A Nigerian Entrepreneur and radio presenter, Celestine Osmeilu, has
disclosed how famous Sarkodie and Becca are in Nigeria as compared to
the self-acclaimed dancehall king Shatta Wale.
He told Naa Ashorkor on Showbiz A-Z on Joy FM that in contrast to the other two, who are very well known in his country, Shatta Wale is a nobody there. “If you ask an average person in Nigeria who are their top two artists from Ghana, they will mention Sarkodie and Becca….Shatta Wale won’t be in the picture,” he continued to explain how surprised he was to hear Shatta Wale’s name trending in Ghana as their biggest artiste.
“When I visited Ghana last August, I did an opinion poll to know which artiste was bigger and I was shocked when I was told Shatta Wale was bigger than Sarkodie.”
He disclosed that Sarkodie’s popularity is across all Nigeria because he is having management companies that are marketing his brand in the international market, unlike Shatta Wale, whose popularity is just within the borders of Ghana because of greed.
Mr.Celestine Osemeilu adviced, “If Shatta Wale keeps doing his things within the shores of Ghana and not think outside of Ghana, Shatta Wale will remain that local Ghanaian artiste.”
